USA PAVILION AT 'DEFENSE & SECURITY 2009' The United States has shown its confidence and support for Thailand’s upcoming international Defense & Security exhibition by doubling the size of its Pavilion at this year’s show. With full support from the US Commercial Service and the Royal Thai Armed Forces, the country’s commitment underlines the significance of the bi-annual international event which will be held in Bangkok this November. Over 12 international pavilions are expected to host more than 350 companies in what has become one of the most important military and security exhibitions in the region. The American pavilion will provide a comprehensive display of military equipment from the United States covering areas such as communications, security equipment, firearms, CCTV, ballistic and blast-protected vehicles, reconnaissance aircraft, Humvee vehicles and fighter jets. EXHIBITION SPACE GOING FAST Many of the world’s biggest arms and security manufacturers have already signed up for Defense & Security 2009 and show space is now almost full. 2009 will mark the fourth event since the event began in 2003. Last year’s exhibition had 300 major international arms suppliers from 28 countries and this year’s event will be considerably larger with expanded international participation. Under the theme of ‘Into The Future’ Defense & Security 2009 will again be held with the full support and backing of the Thai Ministry of Defence and attended by VIPs and top government officials.
