16 June 2021, Thailand Prime Minister – General Prayuth Chan-o-cha rolled out a country road map and set goal to fully open the country in 120 days.
All businesses able to resume normally and visitor free to travel without quarantine. This is a calculated risk required to support the economy
The government targeted 50 million Thai’s to receive at least one shot of vaccine. As of today, 7million doses of corona virus vaccination have been administered – 5.1Million have received the first dose and 1.8 Million both the doses.
“When we take into consideration the economic needs of people, the time has now come for us to take that calculated risk,”
“We cannot wait for a time when everyone is fully vaccinated with two shots, or for when the world is free of the virus, to reopen the country,” stated by H.E. General Prayuth Chan-o-cha
120-day target would fall in mid-October and Gen Prayut said about 50 million people would have received at least their first corona virus vaccination by then.
Thailand has secured over 105.5million does of the corona virus vaccines and seeking for more supplies in 2022.
